Meet Karen Stevens, Contract Administrator and HR Coordinator at RUSH Construction since 1997. A Florida native, Stevens pursued a position at RUSH after hearing about the firm’s reputation as an excellent company. While RUSH soundly met her expectations, she was not prepared for the eclectic assortment of individuals with whom she was about to share the next 17 years.
For Karen, the most memorable moment working with RUSH was the first company cruise that she attended; that was the first time she glimpsed each of her co-workers in a casual, fun setting, as the diverse individuals that they are.
As with the majority of RUSH employees, Stevens loves her job, and wouldn’t trade places with anyone else in the company. Her position allows her to interact with each of RUSH’s team members and projects, and keeps her wondering what will come next. “Being a part of such a complex and diverse company keeps me wondering what opportunity will present itself next,” says Karen. “That is why I have stayed with RUSH for so long.”
Karen names the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) at Patrick Air Force Base as her favorite RUSH project to date. She had not previously worked on a project of such magnitude, and really enjoyed helping the company develop a relationship with such an interesting new client.
As one of RUSH’s original 7 stockholders since the year 2000, Stevens takes a lot of pride in being a part of RUSH, and continues to be inspired by RUSH’s endearing effort to uphold the highest standards of quality and integrity.
