The RUSH-PEAK Joint Venture (RPJV) has a successful history and proven track record of delivering quality projects as a joint venture entity. In contrast to companies that may have teamed for the first time for the purpose of submitting a proposal for this project, the RPJV has teamed for 19 previous contracts totaling over $23,000,000 in value. The RPJV is a Mentor-Protégé arrangement that functions under a Small Business Administration (SBA) approved joint venture agreement. Under our joint venture arrangement, RUSH Construction, Inc. (RUSH) serves as the Mentor and PEAK Contracting, Inc. (PEAK) is the Protégé.
In the role as Mentor, RUSH provides their twenty-five years of experience in managing and performing construction work in support of the aerospace and defense related projects. This expertise in project management, field supervision, scheduling, quality control, and safety is conveyed to the PEAK staff for their continued growth and knowledge in these areas. In addition, RUSH works closely with PEAK in financial controls, estimating, customer service, and marketing which serves to strengthen PEAK’s abilities in these areas. RUSH also provides assistance in the bonding of projects when needed.
As the Protégé, PEAK is the designated Managing Venturer. The President of PEAK serves as Manager and Senior Project Manager of the joint venture and is responsible for the overall performance of the contracts and also functions as the primary liaison with the SBA. PEAK provides the Project Manager and Project Superintendent for each contract. These positions are supplemented by RUSH personnel when PEAK resources are not available. The Project Managers of both companies meet together on a weekly basis in order to review the current status of each joint venture project. In this collaboration, RUSH provides their expertise in areas such as scheduling and financial controls.
PEAK and RUSH also share in the furnishing of trade personnel for the work the joint venture self-performs depending on available manpower and other commitments. Many operational, management, and logistical issues that would typically plague firms that are teaming for the first time have been identified, addressed and resolved by the RPJV as a result of our years of working together and our joint performance on twenty contracts.
