
Explosive Ordinance Facility – MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL
The new Design/Build Explosive Ordnance Disposal Facility is required to accommodate 18 full time personnel and 3 Government vehicles. The facility includes spaces for administrative offices and training, conditioned storage/shops spaces and vehicle garage bays. Site improvements include parking for POV and GOV as well as area for required turning radius. Fencing is required for garage and GOV parking area. A new 1-story facility is required to support their day to day activities. The administrative areas require private offices and open office areas in a standard office environment. The training and maintenance areas of this facility have special requirements as stated in this document that are specific to the EOD’s needs. This facility operates within normal business hours (Monday thru Friday, 7am to 5pm). At times, an Alert Duty shift is required. This is typically 1 person “on call” in the facility to provide 24/7 emergency response. The objective is to provide a facility that has the most efficient and functional layout, energy efficient with low operating costs, and with the most durable and as low maintenance as possible to support their mission.
