Construction Estimator – Titusville, FL (Space Coast)

We’re hiring a Construction Estimator to continue being the preferred General Contractor, Design-Builder, and Construction Manager of a family companies supporting Air, Space, Land and Sea.

You will have a career development path into of all the building trades in the commercial, government, healthcare, aerospace, and defense industries.

Go Deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to RUSH through the following responsibilities:

  • Organize, analyze, and coordinate multiple projects to identify design, scope, and all requirements. (60% of time)
  • Identify subcontractors for each required division and solicit bids using PROCORE software. (20% of time)
  • Liaison with subcontractors to manage relationships during construction and ensure all design needs and deadline are met. (10% of time)
  • Negotiate terms of agreements as needed and draft contracts (10% of time)

The Details: This role will report to an Executive Vice President and our ideal candidates will bring a preference to be part of a team that recognizes your contribution, the ability work to effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Skills in leadership, strong communications, conflict resolution, and is a self-starter.

  • Experience with Conceptual estimating through 100% design, document coordination / control, involvement in design-build and related proposals.
  • Experience with preparation of scope sheets, tab sheets, and bid summaries.
  • Experience with commercial, medical, and/or government construction
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Project.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering with five years field experience is preferred.
  • 5 years of field experience as a Project Superintendent, along with 5 years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Estimator would be strongly considered in lieu of a degree.

Bonus Experience:

  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process the and ability to see the ‘big picture.’ (We can help you learn the ones you don’t know.)
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods, building products, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Process skills in scheduling and have a good understanding of project management needs through the subcontracting phase.
  • Familiarity with PROCORE project estimating /management software.
  • Generate scope sheet estimates for self-performed self- performed and sub- contractor scope as needed using Blue Beam and PlanSwift.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience construction estimating experience.
