Beginning at 10:30 AM on March 5th, the ceremony will feature a showcase of recent improvements by RUSH Construction, Inc. and RUSH Marine, with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:15 AM.
After completing various improvements to Brevard County Veterans Park, general contractor RUSH Construction Inc. and its subcontractor, RUSH Marine, will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony along with the President of the Veterans Memorial Center and other local officials. This public event, which will begin on Friday, March 5th, at 10:30 AM, will signify the official re-opening of this important recreation area, and will include a showcase of the newly added park improvements and a ribbon cutting at 11:15 AM. Attendees are invited to enjoy a stroll on freshly laid sidewalks and three brand new boardwalks.
RUSH Construction, Inc. contracted RUSH Marine as the subcontractor to perform the marine scope of the improvements for this project. Once the existing fencing, foliage, and concrete barricades were removed, RUSH Construction and RUSH Marine completed the installation of 29,988 square feet of sidewalk and 547 linear feet of boardwalk, additional parking, and new landscaping. The project was completed at the end of February, 2021, and the new boardwalks in particular add to the value and beauty of the park as a venue for reflection, health, and honor. The grounds, located at 400 S Sykes Creek Pkwy in Merritt Island, show strong potential to become a community gathering place in the future for music, special events, and much more.
“This latest project is a showcase of the exemplary work by the Brevard County Government leadership and staff,” said RUSH Construction, Inc. President & CEO, William Chivers. “RUSH Construction holds our continuing relationship with the County in great value and we are proud to partner on this development which will give our community a special place to enjoy with their families. The RUSH Construction team stands behind an unwavering support of our veterans and it has been an honor to work on this special project.”
