Ed Rabel Celebrates his 63rd “Coming to America” Day!
Happy 63rd “Coming to America” Day to RUSH Construction Founder Eduardo A. Rabel!
Today at the office we celebrated the incredible journey of Ed Rabel, who arrived in the United States at just 16 years old on July 17, 1962, through Operation Pedro Pan, a historic effort that brought over 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban minors to the U.S. in search of freedom and opportunity.Ed often says he was “born twice”—first in Havana, Cuba, and again at a refugee camp in Miami, Florida. From there, his path took him to a boys’ home in Kentucky, through college (which he put himself through), and ultimately to a life defined by perseverance, purpose, and the pursuit of the American Dream.
He married his college sweetheart, built a family, and founded what would become the RUSH Family of Companies—a lasting testament to hard work, resilience, and vision.
