On November 15, 2017, RUSH Construction Inc. completed work on DaVita North Brevard, which included a complete build-out of half of the first floor of Titus Landing Medical Office Building totaling approximately 8,248 S.F. with a Bio Carb room, Bio Med, offices and 21 treatment beds for the North Brevard Dialysis. After a number of setbacks outside of their control, the RUSH team truly banded together and went above and beyond to come through for the client, completing the project on-schedule. Below is a message from Senior Project Manager Mike Lapinski to his team, detailing and recognizing the hard work of all involved:
All,
TEAMWORK played a major role in getting us to the finish line here. From the beginning Mark, Robbie, Jason, Karl, Bill, and Shawn worked with me hand in hand. Our field guys and our subs put in tireless hours making sure that our deadline for this project was met. The last three weeks were double shifts due to one subcontractor’s lack of management that caused a major negative schedule impact. Last night, our crew plus two flooring crews, Acousti and K-Kraft, worked well into the night along with DaVita’s IT sub to make it ready for today’s deadline. Jason, Carlos, and Ralph showed up at 5 AM this morning to make sure that final cleaning was accomplished by the walkdown at 8 AM.
A big “Thank You” to Shawn for all of his coordination of the crews and taking up a paint roller last night to repaint pretty much all of the walls with our guys after our painter left at 3:30. The guys we now have in the field (Jeremy, Cole, Jesse, Ralph, Carlos, Steven, Ron) were there when we needed them and did what needed to be done. They took true ownership of the project, and it shows.
DaVita on numerous occasions this morning praised the work that was done and how it looked and how good it was to work with RUSH. Our goal was to open the door for repeat business with this owner. DaVita wants RUSH to do more work with them as they respect us and how we do business, all based on the example we set on this project. Mission accomplished!
Robbie started this project as Superintendent and got the project off to a great start. Jason worked with Robbie, who is transitioning to be a Superintendent with RUSH and got his opportunity when Robbie needed to take over the Orlando Physics Lab project. Jason’s position was a temporary one with the hope of becoming permanent in the near future. Jason had an offer from another general contractor building custom homes that he did not want to pass up, and RUSH supports him; his last day with RUSH was today. He stuck around after having a job offer two weeks ago as he wanted to make sure that he was able to see this project to the end. His integrity and dedication as a Superintendent will show through to his new employer and we will miss him but wish him the best in his next endeavor.
It truly takes TEAMWORK to get these tight schedule projects completed. Our office staff also plays a large role in making sure the logistical aspects are in place and this was no exception. Their support was as important as every other member of the TEAM.
Thanks once again to everyone. DaVita North Brevard is just one more excellent example of a “Quality RUSH Project Built with Integrity”!
Sincerely,
Michael D. Lapinski LEED AP BD+C
