The Barn Light Electric Manufacturing Facility is a two-phase, design-build project involving the renovation of an existing 38,000 SF facility and new construction of 10,000 SF providing Barn Light Electric Company with a primary manufacturing facility for their classic vintage light fixtures.
The renovation work included parking lot restoration, selective demolition, new facade, roof repairs, interior and exterior finishes, and extensive mechanical, electrical, and fire protection improvements. The work also included the construction of a Paint Room, Drying Room, and new offices associated with the manufacturing process. The building addition includes a new Shipping/Receiving area, and a Frit Storage/Screen Printing Room, but was constructed for the primary purpose of housing Barn Light’s high-temperature porcelain oven and associated paint booths. The porcelain coating process used in the manufacturing of these fixtures is the only process of its type in the United States.
