RUSH Construction, Inc. served as General Contractor for the renovation of the Exploration Space project at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex which consisted of a complete interior demolition of approximately 10,000 square feet of an existing exhibit building. After the interior demolition was complete the interior renovation began. Renovation work consisted of rerouting ductwork, re-establishing fire alarm systems, retrofitting the existing fire sprinkler systems, new interior metal stud/drywall walls, re-insulating the entire facility for sound attenuation, construction of new sound/projection panels, remodeling the entry way and marquee, painting, wall coverings and flooring. During the performance of this project, over 40 miles of wire was installed in the buildings wire-ways to support the vast electrical and communications systems required to support the new Exploration exhibit. Four (4) permanently installed fall protection points were also installed on the roof of this structure in order to allow for future maintenance.
