Replace Feeders and Ducts, Contractor Road – Kennedy Space Center
RUSH completed the Replace Feeders & Ducts, Contractor Road project at Kennedy Space Center, Florida in March 2011 roughly six months ahead of schedule. The overall scope of work for this project consisted of the replacement of approximately 140,000 linear feet of medium voltage cabling throughout the existing manholes along Contractor Road in the KSC LC 39 Area.
In addition to the cable replacement, RUSH was contracted to replace one, 150 kVA 3 phase pad mounted oil filled transformer and one, 15.5kV vault style load break switch in the KSC LC 39 Area. All work activities were required to be performed under utility outages that were closely coordinated with NASA. Additionally, all work complied with the stringent electrical safety standards established by NASA and the newly established NFPA guidelines.
