The scope of this project consisted of the renovation of the existing Dive Tank Facility, KW-400, located on the Special Forces Underwater Operations base at Trumbo Point NAS Key West, FL. RUSH-PEAK JV completed all renovation activities in February 2011.
The scope of the renovation work activities included the replacement of the existing tank lights and controls, facility lighting, blasting and recoating of interior of 200.000 gal bolted steel tank, insulate existing walls and ceilings with batt insulation, epoxy flooring, repair/paint existing gypsum board walls, roof hatch modifications, door and hardware replacement, installation of stainless steel overflow tank and holding tank, piping and valve upgrades, and the installation of 15 ton DX split and 3.5 ton HVAC systems complete.
Structural repairs to the existing bolted steel tank were required, as a result of a differing site condition during the performance of our work. Due to facility constraints the units had to be lifted by a crane through an existing roof hatch 60ft above grade and mounted in the attic space of the top floor. Precise coordination was required by RUSH-PEAK JV for the installation of this equipment around on-going customer operations.
