RUSH-LINK Joint Venture completed the Add/Alter Zodiac Storage Bldg. 689 project in April 2012. The work performed under this project consisted of providing the labor, equipment, and materials necessary to make miscellaneous structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and life safety improvements to Building 689 Zodiac Storage at Patrick AFB, Florida. The scope of this project was separated into two parts: Repair Fire Deficiencies and Add/Alter Zodiac Storage.
The Repair Fire Deficiencies scope consisted of the installation of a new wet pipe sprinkler system for the entire building and canopy, installation and programming of a fire alarm control panel, and the installation of one personnel door. The Add/Alter Zodiac Storage scope consisted of the installations of a free-standing canopy, six new insulated overhead coiling doors, gypsum board partitions, and three new packaged air conditioning units, as well as several upgrades to the building’s power systems. This project was completed on schedule despite several discrepancies on differing site conditions encountered during the performance of this contract.
RUSH-LINK TWO JV worked with personnel from the USAF in resolving these issues in real time and ultimately avoided excessive costs and impacts to the project schedule.
