RUSH served as the General Contractor for the new 12,100 s.f. Space Control Facility which provides the operational platform for the 114th Space Control Squadron, Florida Air National Guard at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL.
The 114th Space Control Squadron’s mission is to provide survivable and reliable satellite voice and data communications for command control and logistics in support of USAF, Air Combat Command, and NATO communications requirements. They support launch range operation tracking of the Space Transportation System, Atlas, Delta, and Titan launches.
The building construction elements included concrete, masonry walls, structural steel, specialty security construction features, and multiple secure and non-secure communications systems.
The project was estimated to take approximately 11 months, with an expected completion date of August/September 2019.
