Heavily involved in the construction projects happening all around Florida, RUSH Construction, Inc., President, William Chivers is honored to be highlighted in this month’s i4 Business Magazine, a publication which prides itself in “promoting entrepreneurship throughout Central Florida.” In the article, Chivers speaks of how he got started in the industry, how RUSH has persevered through a national and regional economic slump, and about his passion for the City of Titusville, which RUSH Construction, Inc., calls home.
“…I was born in rockledge, graduated from Cocoa High, went to what is now Eastern Florida State College and moved to Titusville 25 years ago. I’m a zealous advocate for the area. Being at the mercy of the space industry, it has been boom and bust. It will look different in 12-24 months; new businesses are coming in and we are involved with many of them.”
Chivers isn’t overstating RUSH’s involvement in the community of Titusville – Currently RUSH Construction, Inc. is currently working on projects including Ron Norris Ford Renovations, Embraer Seating Facility, Parrish Medical Center- Health Village East, and The Brix Project, all of which are projects taking place in the Titusville area. When asked where the real reward or the “why” was for him, Chivers simply responded with:
“We build things that make a difference in people’s lives. Whether that is helping astronauts go into space or a medical facility where lifesaving or life transforming treatments are delivered or a YMCA…That is a pretty rewarding experience.”
This sense of reward and accomplishment comes to Chivers not only as the president of RUSH Construction, Inc. but also as a member of the city which he loves, The City of Titusville.
