Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) – Patrick Air Force Base, Florida

DEOMI is a 90,000 SF, two-story, design-build, education and training facility that is designed to accommodate more than 400 students. The structure consisted of precast concrete wall panels and a structural steel frame. The building utilizes a Florida Mediterranean style of architecture and includes classrooms, faculty offices, a library, computer rooms, break areas, research rooms, and an auditorium. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest in audio, video, and communication systems and technology. The extensive site work included installation of a new lift station.

The design-build team, led by RUSH Construction, Inc. excelled in many areas during the course of the contract, including managing quality control, safety and overall project management They embraced and championed partnering as their operating procedure I am enthusiastic about the DEOMI project’s nomination for various construction awards and consider this to be worthy of recognition. -Dennis W.
